Mother’s Day

March 30th, 2003 by Sarah

It’s Mother’s Day here. I bought myself a card because no-one else was going to, but Steve did manage to haul himself out of bed this morning to help the kids write it. Anna had made a card at girls’ brigade, coloured a picture from activity village and made a frame type thing at her friends’ house yesterday so she made up for it! Also I was really proud of her because at our church gathering this morning she went up to the front and prayed a ‘thank you for our Mums’ prayer really nicely.

We’ve had a nice weekend; Anna’s been to play with a friend while Abbie, Joe and I hit the town yesterday … Abbie also had the opportunity to be allowed to rip some wallpaper off in a friends’ house (makes a change from ripping it off in our house where we haven’t been too pleased about it), and then we grownups went out to a posh restaurant in the evening for Steve’s sisters’ 21st birthday. We’re about to go off to Grandma and Grandpa’s house for a Mother’s Day/Emma’s birthday tea which should be nice.

Our goal charts have gone well so far although I haven’t managed to put a happy face on many of my boxes – the kids have done much better, I’m pleased to report!
