Eight eggs and counting

The dreaded headlice have been spotted, on daughter #2′s head, who was spotted itching more than once today so given a thorough examination. Which horrid child passed that on, I wonder? I suppose, unless it’s Mollie (note to self, must see her mum about it in the morning) it must have been at Holiday Club the other week … ah well, head lice is the one thing that I do use an alternative remedy for, and it really works well, so having located it (which took a while, last night – sometimes I tidy things up too well!) I will be plastering her head with it later this morning. Thankfully it smells nice, so we’ll find a hat and go out as planned!

Had a nice day, which started with Abbie’s recorder lesson, then we went into town to find Richard Robinson who was supposed to be in one of our shopping centres today as part of the Science Festival week. When we got there we found a lovely recorder ensemble, which was great in its own right and Abbie loved seeing all the different recorders in action, but no Science Magic. Very disappointing – and I spotted a number of other people, science festival programmes in hand, walking round looking equally disappointed. None of the shopping centre staff seemed to know anything about it, either!

After that we went and found the Green Fair that Jules blogged about, stayed long enough for Abbie to get a hair wrap and both children to have a cake/drink and wander around a bit, but then we had to get home so we didn’t stay for all the kids’ activities. Picked up Anna on the way home, she’d been at the garage with Steve and some activity books all morning – her choice.

Simon, Layla and Claudia came for a late lunch, having been to see Steve and pick up their new car – so we had a lazy afternoon together while the children played, and I’m assuming that judging by Claudie’s reluctanct to leave, they must have had a nice time!

Today we are planning to go to the cinema to see Microcosmos, which is on as part of the science week too – and Anna really is fascinated by bugs, and has a strange memory for random bug-facts, so I hope she will really enjoy it. Portico, if you’re reading this, click the cinema link, I’m still wondering about seeing Deep Blue in the week, simply because of the cameraman talk afterwards … should I get tickets when I’m there today?

I’m getting really confused about which day it is – I think both Saturday and Sunday have been referred to as ‘today’, I must go back to bed and try to overcome my insomniac tendencies … night all!
