for Kirsty :)
The bathroom lady. Which I didn’t have to take a special photo of, believe it or not I (very sad I know) took this when we moved in to the house in July, and I have it filed in a section entitled ‘house monstrosities’ !! She is very big, and what you probably can’t make out is the ‘gold factor’ in the picture … I’m not a gold person really! Thankfully our bathroom upstairs is white with silver taps and quite tastefully decorated in bluey grey tones with lighthouse tiles! Anyway, nevermind, it all works well so won’t get changed unless she falls off the wall by herself …
We’ve had a reasonably productive day here – Abbie and Anna both finished their respective maths workbooks off, and Abbie did some handwriting, Anna did a couple of pages of english, and Anna finished off her storyboard from yesterday. Joe did some worksheets that he’d brought home from Start Right, read his books, and then listened to ‘This is the Bear’ on audio CD for quite a while.
Steve was around at lunchtime, then afterwards we hit the garden … which amounts to having cut the grass (took ages, despite it only being a small lawn, because it was so long!), swept and tidied the patio, and hacked all the bushes in the front garden into shape. I know absolutely nothing about gardening, but haven’t managed to kill anything yet, more’s the pity – I don’t like much of this garden, can’t wait to rip it all out. I have yet to remove the daft ‘goes nowhere’ archway in the front garden, not to mention the stupid fountain, but I decided to wait for another day to attack those two jobs, because we had to take Anna to cello. Mollie came with us today, and the three little ones played in the park really nicely for the hour Anna was in her lesson, and I got to read a nice lot of my book, until it got too dark to read!
Anyway, we’ve got tea out of the way early this evening, kids are bathed and pyjamaed early too, so we’re going to read a bit more of Little House in the Big Woods now.
