my friend had one of those at a party and she said it was pretty cool and a good talking point. i love a party but would not have done our wedding any differently – couldn’t have been doing with months of planning, dress fittings, cake traumas and seating arrangements. strangely i would quite like to do something on that scale at some future anniversary point though – i just wanted the actual wedding to be about us and not anyone else!

i had read some of the birth stories before off your family site but not seen Joel’s there before. ((Sarah)) for that xxx

I agree – our wedding was fine at the time and we have some great memories from it but I’d love to do another one, being the person I am now and having the joint friends that we have now, rather than the mainly polarised family we *had* to invite then … I am DEFINITELY having a marriage related party soon – 15th anniversary maybe?

LOL. That’s a nice idea Alison – doing it again with all the people who are part of your life now. Now and again I think about having a party for our 25th, but it always seems a bit smug, somehow. But in a sense, it’s as simple as that, just wanting to have fun with friends, and have the kids there as well.

Our wedding was as fancy as I could have stood – I’m not really a fripperies kind of person, and C would doubtless have been happy with a whip in and out and then down the pub. I wouldn’t mind doing it again, but not for the accessories, just for the people I’ve met since who I think should have been there

Hi Sarah, I thought that was pretty game of Steve too- not only to dress up but to agree to have his pic posted!

I can’t stand wedding fuss- other peoples or for myself. Sim and I had a sneaky two witnesses and a bottle of champagne job. We’ve never regretted it but it’s a mute point with certain family members who would have loved a party!
The only thing I might have done differently was to have a decent dress of some description and a photographer. I think our wedding pics of us in whatever we found at the back of the wardrobe that morning have been the cause of much mirth in my family and have gone some way to compensating…
