Easy on Sunday morning
Yesterday:
Swimming went well, hopefully a good start to the term. I’ve told Josiah that when he is 4 he has to start going in on his own and not expecting me to watch him every week, but at least he’s good when I do watch, not like the girls used to be, messing around just because I was there.
Got a few bits done for the miscarriage thing, not helped by the fact that I don’t know how big or what colour the display board is, and there aren’t exactly many pretty pictures you can add in to help a display on miscarriage, so once you’ve presented the facts it’s hard to know what else to do!
It was little neighbour Mollie’s birthday yesterday too so the kids spent a while doing cards etc., for her. They played outside for a fair while too, and we got round to planting a few more seeds which was good.
Other educational achievements – I sat and did some music theory work from the middle of Anna’s piano book with her which was interesting, I must keep the piano thing bubbling away because she’d forgotten half of it … or rather, must find a proper piano teacher.
Abbie started a painting on a big canvas, so we did that together. Joe wanted to play a game so we ended up playing ‘Sunken Treasure Adventure’ which is a nice phonics game from that toy company. And that’s about it.
Got the roast cooked, a friend came round to share it with us, and we watched telly together all night. Managed to have what I call a good day with the kids (ie I didn’t shout too much), and it ended up with the Stagecoach lady getting back to me late last night to say they have one place left in the class this term which starts today so we are hoping Anna can join in for a trial couple of weeks.
Having told her about that she’s been madly practising some dance show or other this morning; Joe finished level two of Studydog and has made a good start to level three. Abbie’s been winding everyone up and collapsing into fits of raucous laughter at every opportunity
