I refer you back to my comment on animal crossing.

You should my shoebox of pencils that resulted from me clearing out the garage. And they weren’t even coloured. Even weeded out all the ones less than 3″ long, although I did resist actually getting my ruler out to check.

OK, I wish I hadn’t posted than now.

Doesn’t everyone? And also I put them in the little sleeves in the pencil case, in order of all the gradations of shading, as well. The problem I have though is whether something is orange red, or blue red, as that obviously influences the placement……..

Love sharpening pencils, lol
Can’t be bothered to keep them or pens in cases these days (too much of a battle with the children!), but do love arranging them too.
When I was young, every couple of months on a Sunday afternoon, we would spend a couple of hours collecting all the felt-tip pens up from around the house and then watching my dad test them (and sharpen pencils too) – a housekeeping habit I have continued

Hands up the people who arrange their spice jars alphabetically.

Lol at you !

yeah, i love sharpening a drawer full of pencils too – so satisfying!
so how did your dad test felt tips Alison? Did he write something or just scribble?
but don’t feel better by any of us doing it too Sar – we’re all pretty odd ourselves
Joyce has cutlery dust covers!!!

I’m with Steve….. So do you use little sharpener, or a twirl the nadle one, or even an electric one..?
Though i’m either going to glue a pencil sharpener to large piece of wood or get a fix to the desk type one as otherwise we can never find one.

Yep – love to sharpen pencils. Was very upset recently to find we have got three triangular prism ‘grippy’ pencils that fit none of the sharpeners in the house.

No, just a normal sharpener, but it has to be a metal one! I would love to have one of those handle turning ones but I can’t help thinking the kids would spend all their time sharpening pencils, I know I did at school
Our triangular grippy pencils fitted in the ‘big’ side of the sharpener …

LOL. I not organised enough I can never find the sharpener!

My dad used to bring home his electric pencil sharpener from work a couple of times a year….this was near wild heaven for me……..hey,maybe now I am an adult(!) I could buy one for myself!!!

Yes, me too… I don’t get to sharpen so often these days, though, now the boys don’t really bother with colouring pencils. I have to make do with the ones at Sunday School so long as nobody else gets to them first.

All our pencils are in a pot and every so often I go through the whole pot and make sure they’re all sharp. Ocaasionally I test the felt tips too, as they all live in a different pot which isn’t very big and if, for example, the red one has run out, I can replace it with a red one from my backing store.

Uhm, if they want them sharpened they do it themselves?!

What a relief! I’m not alone in my sharpening-pencils thing! I thought I was the only one! LOL
There’s a certain satisfaction to be had from producing a pile of nice sharp pencils, don’t you think?
Oh, and wrt what kind of sharpener – one word: Opitec. They sell one for about £13 which is the absolute best sharpener in the world. I bought one about four years ago and have never once felt it wasn’t worth every penny. Highly recommended.
Can’t believe I’m having an in-depth discussion about sharpening pencils. I need a life LOL
