Discoveries

September 12th, 2005 by Sarah

Today’s learning curve has consisted of Steve and I discovering that Darts Farm is a completely crap place to try to go shopping with three children in tow between swimming lessons. Oh, and the other thing, Carrot & Almond soup is rather nice, Steve made some for dinner :)

Kids all did music practice this morning (although I’m convinced I heard more chopsticks than broken chords – thank you again Grandma  ), followed by a page of workbook for the younger two; Anna managed to procrastinate sufficiently to escape – I will have my revenge tomorrow ;)

We went off to our (now traditional) Monday morning meeting at the garage while Grandma looked after the children, and came home to find them all sitting in front of Primary Geography on CBBC, all about water.

This afternoon was almost completely taken over with swimming lessons which started again today. In an attempt to clear Saturday morning for other things I moved lessons to a Monday afternoon; the down side being that there are large gaps between Joe’s lesson and the girls’ lessons, and even their times to swim aren’t adjacent, iyswim, there’s a wait inbetween theirs too. So Steve and I will have to re-learn how to manage a Monday afternoon … and whoever’s at home will have to have dinner on the table on the dot of 7pm if we want to have an evening as well!

The girls and I both missed our Saturday morning swimming friends (although it’s Monday so Steve is supposed to have the kids, somehow due to hassles at work we ended up swapping back), so it wasn’t quite the same – but on the up side, Josiah went in and swam with no problems whatsoever – brilliant. I had meant to take him swimming more over the summer and failed. And Abbie did some reading while waiting, so that was a good use of time. Anna had refused to take anything to do, so she was bored stiff, but it was her own fault. It’s been a day for teenage strops from her

Looking forward to getting rid of Steve nice and early tomorrow morning (don’t take it personally, darling ;) ) and getting on with some more Narnia as well as loads of other jobs that need doing.

Juggling kids isn’t much fun …. still, I’m happy as P&M are now both at 6pm on a Monday :) Hope you can sort out a good plan!

We arrived an hour early for dancing then whilst Boo was in her lesson I misread the new times for Peas modern and she missed it despite being in the same building! I’m useless!
