Pingle, pangle, pingle
Got Joe to do his violin practise, then couldn’t drag the others away from CS Word Detective, which is happily educational, so I didn’t bother trying. Observed them doing it for a while, must find a way to disable level one so that it actually *stretches* them, though!
The girls eventually emerged and got dressed, did music practice, and then they all disappeared again into some elaborate Romans & Dogs game, which also included band practices where they sing ‘Here’s a pin and here’s a pingle’ (from Bagpuss) in a round – whatever!!
Veggies arrived so then we popped to the shops before going to Puddlers, armed with cat-related Draw Write Now books and plenty of drawing resources. Louise took the children up to her house to see her cats, and there were some cat collage and cat plasticine creations going on. A quiet group today, but it was nice
Have come home for soup & bread before Friday Fish for the girls, a bit more violin practise for Joe, not sure what Steve & I are up to tonight … probably not a lot!

Hi Sarah. It was lovely chatting to you today.
I notice you are the ‘soup-master’ ; creating nice recipes with various ingredients.
Any ideas for making a nice pumpkin soup?
I always hate throwing away the bit we scoop out when we carve our pumpkins at this time of year.
I’m sure you’ll impress me with a great little recipe
Have a good weekend.

Best pumpkin soup I ever had:
500g pumpkin
30g butter
1 small onion
small sprig thyme
1 stick cinnamon
small piece lemon peel
500ml stock (chicken or veg)
500ml milk
10ml salt
white pepper
3oml brandy (optional)
50ml sour cream (optional)
Fry onion in butter. Add flavours and pumpkin and stock, simmer until
pumpkin is cooked. Add milk, salt and pepper and heat. Liquidise/mash
wathaveyou. Stir in brandy and sourcream and serve hot or cold with herb
toast. Can also add lots of garlic, ginger, or nutmeg (not with ginger)
Whole nutmeg grated, not that tasteless powder.
All my soups are very cumin-y atm, I love it and it goes so well with root veg.
