Hot Chocolate and Ice Cream
Highlight of today was our bike ride … the morning went by the wayside as Saturday mornings do, with Stage by Stage for Anna and violin for Joe, then on the way home Steve picked up a bike rack from WTA. Faffed around trying to find the best four bikes to go on it, and the best way to put them on, which took an hour the first time but we did it in 10 minutes the second time!
We just did a short ride along the canal path, and stopped for ice cream/hot chocolate at Lutzy’s on the Quay. I think if this bike riding thing continues as we hope, I will have to start reviewing hot chocolates! Lutzy’s hot choc was very hot and creamy, came served with one of those cigarette russe things with chocolate in it, but no option for cream/marshmallows/flake, which I would have preferred! We’ll try somewhere else next time
Couldn’t believe that the kids chose ice cream - nutters!
Joe tried riding on his own for all of 2 seconds and didn’t get very far, so we let him off with the easy option of being towed, but we are going to work on getting him independent. Stopped for a quick play in the play area at Double Locks on the way back too.
Abbie lost it a bit on the way home after a couple of minor accidents which, for some reason, were just too much to cope with. It was getting fairly cold and windy by that point too. Anyway, she pulled herself together in time to go and play chess with Caitlin & Riona - both girls are there playing and have been for a couple of hours, I’m wondering when Rog & Ruth are going to get tired of them?!
Tonight we have friends coming round to watch a film, not sure which one yet, but it should be a nice evening
And the girls have just got home, so that answers my question above!

Sarah, hardly noticed them! C and Anna played chess whilst Riona and Abbie got absolutely engrossed in the marble run. Bliss.

…and the girls let me watch the rugby! I then started shouting at the telly as Ireland kept knocking on.
