When I was choosing mine (Nikon CP7900) I wanted something which could be used point and click (so that Big could use it). I also looked at a Canon A620 which I think is the nearest (now a630/a640) to what you had pinched and dismissed it as a bit bulky. One I liked very much was the Canon S80, which is a very, very high end compact. My pro photographer adviser suggested an Olympus SP350, which was a bit to bulky and not at all point and shoot. I really would not want anything which I couldn’t pocket, I used to have an Olympus OM2, which I never took anywhere with me because it was just to heavy to cart around.
