Pinch, Punch, First of the Month

December 1st, 2006 by Sarah

I sincerely hope that the excitement of advent calendars is going to wear off. I woke up at 5.45am to the strains of Abbie’s piano practice – she was already dressed, breakfasted etc., and doing her music so that she could have her 1st December chocolate.

edited to add: half an hour later I have just sent everyone back to bed until an alarm goes off at 7am. Oh the irony

LOL, you mean yours have to get up and dressed and breakfasted first? I’ve let them have the chocolate first and now I have 2 hyped up boys doing the “let’s celebrate the 1st December” dance. Might try your way tomorrow!

Well they don’t, but Abbie did – I hadn’t said anything about needing to do anything first! In some ways I suppose the same logic applied there as to anything else that is nonessential on a school morning so I can see why she did it, but 5am is just too early to get up! Anyway, nice to hear your two are celebrating the 1st December as well :)

Adam was quite upset with his Advent calendar this morning, nice chocolates, but no pictures inside the flaps!

Same in our house, except Robyn does not understand why she cannot eat them all today ??? ;)

LOL – I have the solution! Keep them all out late at an ice-hockey game on November 30th

  6. Alison Says:

Or, don’t buy your advent calendars early, wait until they’re being sold off cheaply.

  7. Sarah Says:

ha, Alison, you don’t think *I* bought chocolate advent calendars do you?!

My mum gave us a little wooden tree with drawers under it, every day a drawer gets opened and a little decoration gets put on the tree so by Christmas day it’s all full up. Olivia loves it, Adam just looked at it and grunted ‘It’s got no bloody chocolates!’ He’s 18 in 6 days time for crying out loud!

DS1 beat Abbie, he was up at 4am *sigh* Got him though because I forgot to put them out last night so he had to wait til mid afternoon LOL! I’m so mean! We don’t have chocolate ones either but my offer of “whichever non chocolate one you want” really bit me on the bum because I had to fork out *£20* for a Yu-gi-Oh one! I really didn’t think they made ones that expensive! Must do my research before opening my mouth next time LOL!

We have a fabric hanging pockets one that we’ve had since fran was 2. Only just fitted 4 flying saucers into a pocket last night though, it was a squeeze!
