Funniest moment of the day
Russ had been answering his mobile phone for the past half hour, generally calls from Steve with yet more jobs to do.
Then the other phone, the office phone, rang. Russ picked it up and said ‘hello?’ in that tired ‘what now’ tone of voice, as though it was yet another call from Steve, then immediately realised what he’d done and started apologising profusely to the *customer* on the other end of the phone!
‘Um, I mean, hello, this is Steve Clarke Cars, how can I help you, I’m really sorry!’
Maybe you had to be there, but I laughed, anyway
Just as well, we’re busy, stressed, tired, and snappy (that’s just Steve and I), so we need something to smile at. It’s all good though, or it will be …

Well, it’s better than the jazzy dishcloths
But I can sympathise with Russ – I’m sure most of us have done it

The best one I did once was when a Roger rang at work and I held what I thought was a perfectly civil work-type conversation with him for a few minutes (ie “How’s it going? Work not too stressful?” etc) when the caller had to remind me that it wasn’t any old Roger I was talking to but my husband!
I get so engrossed in my work, and had been speaking to other Rogers that morning, that I didn’t realise this Roger was different!

In fact, I had a near miss last month. I was working late and had told Rog I’d be on my way about an hour previous when the phone went. I nearly picked it up to say “Alright alright darling, I’m on my way!” when something stopped me and I did my “Good evening, Ruth Adams” business. “Good evening Ruth” came the response, “Capt Stewart here”. Phew!!!

Oh dear, sorry you are so stressed, I felt sympathy for you until you uttered those dreadful words… http://www.wibsite.com/wiblog/neil/read.php?12400
We need a night out to take your mind off the work.
