May Bank Holiday Weekend 1

May 1st, 2006 by Sarah

Friday night we booked a last minute pitch here which was a lovely little site, very friendly. Not one for a long holiday imo but great for a stopover, which was what this was.

I picked the children up from school, half-packed the van and Steve made it home from work by 5ish, we finished packing the van, had tea, and were on the road around 6ish.

Great first night of the weekend, just very relaxed, and it feels as though we’ve all pretty much got the measure of the van now which is nice. In the morning the kids and Steve lay in bed watching Spirited Away while I played DS and read, then we had a late breakfast, packed up and eventually got going.

Made the mistake of using motorways for the next leg of our journey which, in retrospect, was slightly stupid, as the M25 was really slow! Stopped for lunch somewhere en route as well, then finally made it to the Beans’ around 3pm I think.

Spirited Away has been declared *the* fav. here by both children.
