Just Saturday

July 1st, 2006 by Sarah

Lovely Saturday here … just doing chores, and watching football, and being together … I’ve worked my way through a huge ironing pile, too many shirts!

When I said earlier that Joe was engrossed in lego I really wasn’t joking – he was at it for about 3 hours solid, didn’t even stop when we offered him lunch! He’d looked at the box of the set he got and said longingly “Mum, I really want to have time to play with that lego”, that was yesterday morning (did I ever feel bad for rushing him off to school that morning!) … so I had promised to help him out with it but he really did the vast majority of it himself.

I just love watching my kids work hard at something, concentrate on something, and work things out for themselves, and then see the pleasure and fulfilment when they achieve what they wanted to …

Abbie played with Mollie and then came back home with her for a dvd mid-afternoon …

After their dvd (Mollie had gone by this time) Abbie and Joe helped by shelling loads of broad beans, guessing how many beans would be in each pod, then we made some bean pesto from the recipe on the Riverford card, going to have it for tea, it looks weird but I’m guessing it will taste okay! Hope so as we have a friend staying!

And Anna’s been out catching the sun – she’s *very* pink! Lots of pictures of her day here :)

Finally, just for Merry really as she was there when I bought them … the flowers in the fireplace. I always swore I would never have artificial flowers in the house but I have succumbed – not sure what that means but there we go!

    Get rid of them!

Apart from the offen ding article sounds like a perfect Saturday.

They’re staying until something better is found … there’s been nothing there for weeks now and it was beginning to be a place that junk accumulated, and that was BAD!

  3. Roslyn Says:

Yes I agree that would be bad. But FFS it’s the summer put some bloody real ones there!

  4. Rog Says:

Umm…sorry about Anna’s rosy complexion! They were all on the water before I could get at them. Except for Riona, who I slathered in factor 60 to make up for the other 9. She wasn’t impressed!

love the pics of Joe – that’s impressive concentration!!

  6. Bob Says:

You could get Joe to make you some nice Lego ones, if you really must have plastic flowers in your fireplace.
