Stowford Holiday

July 22nd, 2006 by Sarah

Anna didn’t carry on with her diary unfortunately, as I’m sure her version of events would be far more entertaining than mine! Beware, lots of photos, big post, not really apologising though. Read on if you like …

Anna missed out the swimming on Saturday afternoon – there was a nice pool onsite, and we spent a good couple of hours in it :) The rest of the day was just spent playing, I think! BBQed on the cadac (Steve’s latest addition to his wish list ;) ) for tea.

Sunday was spent at Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park. The highlight for me definitely being the falconer (ahem!) although the Sea Lion show was pretty good too ;)

On Monday our friends went out for the day to visit family nearby so we did the same, popped to visit Steve’s Grandad and stayed for tea which was huge and very yummy, as Anna would say :) Joe fell asleep on the way home and amused us all greatly by waking up an hour later, then falling asleep for *another* hour on the floor of the van!

Tuesday was another hot day and I don’t think we did much, the kids went with Steve to play crazy golf on site but that was about it. Oh yes, had a huge water fight in the morning – best thing to do on such a hot day! In the evening Liz & I took the 3 biggest girls to the bar to play Bingo, which was hugely entertaining

On Wednesday we sat around all morning, and then ended up on Woolacombe beach in the afternoon, and had fish & chips on the seafront afterwards. Which was lovely, despite the crappy chip shop, and we won’t mention Stuart reversing his wing mirror into the back lights of our van  In the evening we watched the Constant Gardener on dvd which I really enjoyed.

Thursday was our only cool day and we spent it cycling on the Tarka trail from Barnstaple to Instow. No photos of that day unfortunately but it was a really good day out. Played Bingo again in the evening at the girls’ request!

And Friday we came home … don’t seem to have too much sorting out to do due to having done some washing during the week – this is my favourite photo of the week I think! If only it had been terry nappies it would have looked even better ;)

    Aw… NICE!

And love that photo of you… but HOW old are you? You look, as usual, about 12! People will start refering to Anna as your sister soon!

Sounds lovely – we’re interested in the tourist attractions in the area too, we’re having a fortnight near Combe Martin after Greenbelt.

Cool, will have to chat about it then in that case – we probably would have done more if it hadn’t been so flipping hot!
