Bit of an eventful day …
We had a lovely day planned at the Teapottery and then the House of Marbles.
Managed to get as far as the pottery and did some painting which was lovely as usual.
Then we went for a nice picnic in the play area there. It is a fairly rustic play area with some bridges, rope swings and not a lot else, lots of fun though, and everyone was enjoying themselves until the eldest of Ruth’s girls managed to fall down from the rope swing and knock herself out for a good few minutes.
She didn’t seem to come round particularly fast and was weepy and disorientated for quite a while so we swapped cars/driver/children and one carful of us came back to A&E for a couple of hours to get her checked over. She is fine, she’d pretty much recovered by the time we got to the hospital but it was one of those ‘better safe than sorry’ situations. For a couple of minutes it was quite scary. Thinking about it afterwards we wonder if perhaps she actually blacked out before falling off the swing, which would explain the incident better as it was very strange, but that could potentially be even more scary I guess
Very glad that Steve and our friend Becca were with us otherwise it would have been even more of a nightmare. But they took the rest of the kids to the House of Marbles anyway where they all had a good time and then bought ice lollies on the way home, so when we got back from the hospital everyone was happily getting sticky in the back garden.
Thankfully the evening’s looking a bit quieter; we’ll try to have a less eventful day tomorrow!
