Suicide Bunny
Bought my 2007 calendar the other day. I may have blogged about this before, but for a long time this has been an exciting occasion for me (I don’t get out much,
), and usually I choose some theme that we’ve had a fling with during the year, or let the kids choose one for me.
We do pretty much run our family life from one calendar, and therefore I am very picky – can’t stand the ‘family organiser’ type, or any with coloured shapes in the squares; they have to have plenty of space to write in, and preferably the weekend days together at the end of the week (ie weeks starting with Monday not Sunday). So there are plenty of calendars that are unsuitable before I’ve even started!
Looking at the selection this year I was uninspired, we’ve not really had any fads this year and I didn’t feel like anything artistic, castles, landscapes, cartoon characters, any fluffy animals or any of the superhero ones Josiah wanted.
Instead I chose the only one that made me laugh, which was a Bunny Suicide calendar. Now I’m probably behind the times here but I’d never seen them before, and I really did laugh at some of them … my personal favourite that I’ve seen so far is probably this one:

possibly closely followed by this one:

… lots more in the excerpts on the official site, for anyone else who’s as behind the times as me

I’m obviously very behind the times, it’s a new one on me too.

Rog and I laughed at this one too the other week but knowing how IN LOVE our daughter is with anything bunny related we thought she’d spend the whole year weeping at it. Anyway, Rog bought our calendar the other week. I’ve had a year of ‘my’ choice (extreme ironing) and now it’s Roger’s turn. Astronomy. I have a whole year of black holes ahead of me!

Did you not know who Patience Strong was? I thought all good Christian girls were brought up on her!

Nope – so either I’m not a good christian girl, or I just forgot!

Sarah! Do you not care about those poor bunnies?
The book of the pics has been in one of the catalogues (think it might be Hawkins Bazaar) for a couple of years so I had seen them before but that’s the only place I’ve ever seen them.

The jokes are really great but if you want a big callender with lots of space in the squares try organisedmum.co.uk, have to make up your own jokes though : )

Try ‘Great lies to tell small kids’ by the same guy – highly giggle-inducing
