Ball of Sunshine

November 14th, 2006 by Sarah

That was how Anna’s teacher described her this evening at her parent-teacher interview thingummy. Apparently she always comes in with a smile on her face – which is not always how she leaves the house, and it’s only a short walk, so that’s pretty impressive!

Well, apart from obviously being a different child at home than at school (which is fairly normal in my experience!), we were really pleased to hear that she’s getting on fine in all her school work, and especially maths! Steve and I were slightly shocked at that point, as we really wouldn’t have put maths as her strong point, but maybe something’s clicked recently, I don’t know!

She’s also been awarded a thank you certificate (another school reward system) for general all round good attitude (again – how come we have a different child at home?! ), which is great – we get to attend a school assembly next week to see her be presented with it.

Anyway, nice to chat to her teacher and lovely to have a general proud parents moment tonight :)

I *so* need to send my girls to school ;-)

That’s lovely to hear anyway :)

    That is lovely. :)

Face it: She’s only ‘like that’ at home because of her parents, so take the blame. She’s fantastic everywhere else, obviously because of the rescue strategies put into place.

Don’t parents do anything for their children any more?

    ;)

Well done Anna! This sounds so familiar. i always felt that if they were going to be difficult somewhere, I preferred it to be at home than perfect at home and a nightmare everywhere else! Hold on in there. Based on my experience, it will keep getting worse until she grows up!!! (Then it’s great.)
