Putting up with Kubrick … and testing Wordbook

November 8th, 2007 by Sarah

So, with huge thanks to the cavalry who came to my rescue when I cocked it up, Wordpress got upgraded today. Which means I’m back to the default template until I sort out which template and plugins are going to work. But, if I’m lucky, the Wordbook plugin should be working already, which will integrate WP and Facebook, which was the whole point of doing the upgrade, sad but true.

I prefer this to your old template anyway.

  2. Sarah Says:

I was wondering who would be the first to say that ;)

  3. Deb Says:

I got your twitter but haven’t your email addy. If you want me to have a look, email me (or use the contact form on notsheep).

  4. Sarah Says:

it’s ok, Tim sorted me out, but thanks anyway.

I’m rather happy to have just imported all my UTW tags so easily, was worried there for a minute. Feel so geeky when these things matter so much!!!

I don’t really get all this (being a blog luddite) but the BBC website has changed text font today - is it all connected?!

  6. Tim Says:

What have the United Teachers of Wichita got to do with this?

  7. Sarah Says:

    I don’t know ;)

Tim there is one thing still not working, I’m not getting email notifications of comments any more. Any ideas how to fix that?

  8. Tim Says:

Yes, you need the ShiftThis SMTP plugin.

  9. Sarah Says:

Should have it working now, this is a test comment …

  10. Sarah Says:

humph. I am talking to myself. Test connectino is working fine but it’s still not emailing me comments. Oh well.

  11. Ivonne Says:

here is a comment from me :) hope it is working now! Better get my act together now and get some work done!

  12. tim Says:

It should be feeling all better now.

  13. Chris Says:

It was going so well…….but the three boxes above this one really should line up ;-)

  14. Sarah Says:

oh bum don’t say things like that, it looks fine from here!

  15. Sarah Says:

ah I see what you mean now. they don’t line up in Safari either. Bother.

  16. Sarah Says:

hadn’t noticed it before as it only happens when you’re not logged in. Will try to fix it :)

  17. Sarah Says:

Hmm can’t find it - well, I can, but I can’t get it to do what I want it to. The boxes are centred, aren’t they, that’s why they don’t line up, but you are right it does look a little odd. It looks great when you are logged in, so perhaps you should just do that if it annoys you, Chris ;)

  18. Chris Says:

What do you mean ‘when you are logged in’? How do I login? Sounds fun.

Saw the shelves on flickr. They look very stylish but seem rather inefficient unless there are more shelves to be added.

  19. Tim Says:

Can’t see any problem. The boxes look like they have been stacked carefully. Better than the last theme anyway.

  20. Tim Says:

Oh, I see now. Those boxes. The ones above the comment input box, not the ones above the comment. Duh.

  21. Tim Says:

    #commentform{text-align:left}

    :-)

  22. Sarah Says:

    There. All happy now?

  23. Chris Says:

    Thank you.

You need to sort out the twitter bit next. And the proximity of the speech bubble for the comments to the text above. :-P
