The Christmas Post

December 24th, 2007 by Sarah

Happy Christmas one and all. And for anyone desperate to read yet another Christmas newsletter (although I think Steve could be right about them going out of fashion, I only got a couple this year), ours is here.

Since Saturday the girls have been plagued off and on with really high temperatures, coughing, and general illness, so we’ve been taking it very easy. In fact the only things we’ve done over the past couple of days have been a carol service at church last night, hair cuts this morning for the two children who were well enough (then a round trip to stock up on Calpol etc. and fill the car with fuel), and then they all mustered the energy (with the help of calpol) for a trip to the cinema this afternoon - that was a treat, but despite the cinematic excellence of the Golden Compass we were all very disappointed in it generally, because so much was left out of the story, so we think we will stick to the books.

Still, the general state of health here means that everyone was perfectly happy to go to bed for a story at 7pm, and they will all be asleep shortly afterwards I’m sure, leaving us to have a nice relaxing Christmas Eve.

Sleep well and enjoy tomorrow :)

Sorry to hear the kids are ill, hope you are having a good Christmas anyway. I’m also disappointed that you are disappointed with the golden compass but not surprised. We are planning to see it this week, I loved the books too.
