And this was our last day. Lots of waiting around after the car broke down, but we had AA cover so while it was a little bit annoying, it was nowhere near as bad as it could have been, in lots of ways. We were only 6 or 7 hours late in getting home, so not too awful really!

Is that an Alpina? It looks like a BMW to me…

Have they been repatriated yet?

Not as far as we are aware … they said 10 – 14 days.

Crumbs, that’s a long time! Presumably they’re both full of useful stuff – or at least were
Do they get delivered right back to Exeter? Was it all covered by your breakdown cover in the end?

Yes, we’d packed the trailer expecting to open it straight up when we got home! We managed to extract the laundry and our clothes bags, and had a couple of bags of important stuff in the car so we took that with us but all the cameras (for example) are stuck in the trailer.
They do get delivered back to Exeter and it should all be covered by the AA European Breakdown, yes. So so thankful that I took out the policy, which I only did a couple of days before we left, we have definitely had our money’s worth. It was a long day of waiting around the day it happened but really not that much inconvenience, it didn’t spoil the holiday in any way other than that. We are incredibly grateful that it happened when it did, actually – as if it had happened when we weren’t towing then the trailer wouldn’t have been included in the recovery! Not sure what would have happened then!
