Other half of the weekend
It’s late and there’s not much to say but here’s a post anyway. We got up and watched the X-Factor results this morning, having sent the kids to bed before them last night, we promised not to watch them ourselves. Not quite who I wanted for the final but then we never vote so I guess I can’t complain about what happens!
Then the children and I went out to church, where they all took part in various parts of the meeting; an acted out story of Deborah, and the girls received a prize (a new Veggie Tales dvd each!) for having learnt their books of the Bible in order recently, so they were really chuffed about that. I was too, I like Veggie Tales! This Christmas Countdown made me laugh; only look if you are a fan of the Silly Songs though (I have the video
)!
We came home for lunch; Abbie had a bath and the customary weekend nit-combing session. Caitlin & Riona popped round with various goodies, and were subjected to Minnesota Cuke (I imagine they didn’t get many of the Indiana Jones related jokes, although our children did … and it is a particularly good offering from Big Idea, that one!) before going off in hunt of DSs to play those together for a while.
I beat Steve at Scrabulous (yes, that is blog-worthy
) and then we all went out to a Christmas meal with friends from church. We took the Wii and organised a tennis tournament after the food, which was fun, but seemed to take ages! Josiah managed to beat Steve in the final so he was pleased with himself about that. Home very late for a school night so the children got hustled to bed and we are following them very shortly.
