Musical Mondays
March 10th, 2008 by Sarah
Finally giving in and joining in with Helen’s Monday posts over the past few weeks, because I couldn’t resist any longer. I went hunting for a few of my own favourites; here’s one for today: the first movement of Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater.
And along with that, because Anna’s got into the music from The Piano by Michael Nyman recently: The heart asks pleasure first. Have borrowed the soundtrack CD from Steve’s parents, so Anna and I spent a happy hour knitting and listening to it together earlier tonight. Must re-watch the film sometime soon too.

oops! sorting it out now.
I think if I had to choose I’d take ‘Big my secret’ over ‘The heart asks pleasure first’, but I like them both.

i think i have loads of mondays to come! i am choosing fairly randomly – i might have listend to it, or thought about it over weekend. obviously, things i love to listen too, but not done in a top 10. don’t know where i would start! was happiest with dives and lazarus. always in top 10.

That Pergolesi music was mentioned in the book I’ve just read (Bareback by Kit Whitfield – very good – you’re obviously not allowed to read it though Sar!
) – might have to actually listen to it …
