Started so well
The sun was almost shining, Abbie went off to a friend’s to go swimming, and the rest of us had a nice walk up a big hill to find a nearby geocache. GPS was a bit dodgy, I was sure we were in the right place, it took a while to find it – but got there eventually!

I hung the washing out, got the guinea pigs out into the garden, etc.
We were happily planning an afternoon walk and cache hunt with my family, but over lunchtime the rain set in and hasn’t really stopped since. Half term weather, pah ![]()
Washing was wet by the time I noticed, so that’s still out – I did take pity on the guinea pigs though!
Abbie came home, and my parents turned up, and we decided that the walk was definitely off. They cunningly brought some craft kits along with them which amused some of the children for some of the time, then we ended up playing Cluedo, and Take One (that scrabble tiles variant), and watching TV. Josiah is consequently suffering rather from Too Much Time Indoors, but not much I can do about that
Actually maybe I should send him out in wellies and a coat for a puddle splashing session or something!
Anna’s off out for a sleepover with Caitlin in a bit, and we have friends coming over for a takeaway so it should be a nice evening despite the rain ![]()
as I edit, the younger two children are out in the close with Mollie, wearing wellies and coats, and playing with umbrellas – getting some fresh air, so that will help!

I’ve really felt for all the half-termees this week, it’s just been dire weather the whole time
And given we’re on ‘half term confinement’ it would have been nice to chuck D and S out into the garden more too.
