just another morning here

Sometimes I wonder if I should re-title this blog, as I only ever seem to have time to write posts (or, indeed, have anything to write about!) at weekends.

It’s a fairly mundane Saturday. Steve has gone down to Plymouth where the garage who have helped him with his Subaru have a ‘rolling road’ day. He’s taken his car and all his trophies to display, at their request. Show off!

The children have been to orchestra; well, Josiah went but talked to the MD today as he has decided to have a break from it. He’s given it a good go, and while he enjoys some of it, he finds the sight reading really hard work. I’ve encouraged him to keep at it for a while but he’s reached the end of his tether at the moment, so we agreed to leave it for now. He’ll probably go back next year – I hope so, as we’re planning a trip to Russia that year and I really want us all to go (I’m sure I can draft Steve in to drive a van or something)! But it’s not worth him having miserable Saturday mornings in the meantime, he’s better off waiting and going back when he’s ready.

This afternoon once Anna gets home from chamber orchestra we’re planning to go into town. Joe and Abbie are after some pokemon cards, Anna’s dying to spend her allowance on some sheet music (I have offered to buy a book token from her so that she can add a bit more money to her fund), and I want to buy chocolate to bake toblerone brownies, spotted on another blog recently! Oh, and a DVD for Steve’s grandad’s birthday present before his party tomorrow. Plus some other gifts for various birthdays, not to mention a wedding present for the friends who got married last weekend (oops)!

Then it will be home to cook a roast dinner (as well as a couscous salad) and fold laundry while watching Saturday night TV. And tomorrow will be church and then a family do for the aforementioned Grandad’s 80th birthday, don’t let me forget to take the present and the couscous! Photos may or may not be added when we get home tomorrow night.
