How to make sure no-one but a cacher can get to your geocache!

May 22nd, 2009 by Sarah

Lock it in a bird house – hope no birds have banged their heads on the jam jar inside! This was one of two caches we eventually managed to find last night.

This was after hitting an all-time caching low of not finding a cache because we couldn’t even find the suggested parking. We have since google earthed the co-ords and think we might know where to go next time

    Hi,
Our family follows your blog because we love geocaching too! We were just out caching last night and found one in a chache that was a large wooden acorn! Also, we enjoy reading about what life is like in England(we’re in Canada). Our 8 year old son also plays violin, too! He’s been playing for 5 years.
We were wondering about this cache…..after you found the birdhouse, how did you know how to get into the cache? Was it a puzzle cache and you had to figure out the combination lock somehow?

No, I guess it was just an anti-muggle feature – the code for the lock was in the cache description.
