A change from beans on toast

June 20th, 2009 by Sarah

Usually on Friday nights, we have beans on toast for tea. This is because Josiah and I generally get home at about 5.45pm (having left the house around 4ish, for his violin lesson), and Friday Fish (the kids’ club that Joe and Abbie go to) starts at 6pm. So it’s always a bit manic and rushed.

Yesterday was a bit different as I had a particularly interesting day at work, we were going out in the evening, and I decided I just didn’t want to eat beans on toast again! Steve had a voucher for Wagamama so we all went out for dinner before our concert :D

La Serenissima were very good, but the star of the show, for me, was Pamela Thorby. Her performance of one of Vivaldi’s sopranino recorder concertos was simply stunning. We enjoyed looking at the differences between the baroque instruments and the modern versions, and went to inspect the harpsichord and theorbo (I think! had to google to find out what it was!) at the end.

And now, since I have woken up at stupid o’clock for some bizarre reason, Steve has got up early to go racing, instead of wasting time on the computer for hours until the children wake up, I think I am going to go out and bag a cache. I’ll be back before breakfast!

Of course in order to claim a ‘first to find’ (which is why I decided to go out early) you have to actually FIND the darn thing!

Ah. So you’d have been better off turning over like I did then?

Auditions for children are 28 Sunday aren’t they? Riona can’t make that date and I’ve asked Tracy if there’s another date. Can yours make 28th?

I think so, and yes …
