Everyone should see the Pinhoe Panto Society in action!
If you live in Pinhoe, that is
Can’t believe it’s taken us 5 years of living here before we’ve been to one of their shows, but there we go.
We thoroughly enjoyed our night out tonight – and I confess I thought it would be a bit of a trial, one of those things I had to do for the sake of the kid who was involved, but I was very wrong. It was a really good fun amateur show
Very funny in places, fab to see friends and acquaintances performing, drank enough wine to laugh at everything, even the bad jokes, and generally had a brilliant time. I’m sure it will be the first of many such nights!
As well as that, of course, Anna was doing a sterling job as one of the keyboard players – I think she pretty much played ‘rhythm piano’ while Richard the MD played all the twiddly bits, apart from the tracks where he played sax so we were sure that all the keyboard we could hear was hers! Thought she did really well, and it was actually pretty cool to see her using her keyboard skills – it’s easier to perform on a solo instrument but always more difficult to use piano playing in a group – this was ideal really.

So in addition to playing for almost the whole two hour long show, she then served tables during the interval, as did all the cast, and chatted to people, and looked beautiful in my t-shirt
Added to the music were the compliments that people gave us about her (just like parents evening really!), saying how helpful she’d been, how she’d thrown herself into things, etc., which mean more than the rest really. Totally gobsmacked at how grown up and mature she seemed – is!!!
Now if only she could learn to get up on time and keep her bedroom tidy we’d be sorted

I feel all warm and fuzzy with pride for her! Well done Anna. (and well done to you also xxx)

thanks Rossi, although I really can’t claim any credit for this particular show, it was all her own hard work, with a lot of help from Richard. Still glowing in the light of reflected glory though, and it’s nice to feel you must have done something right as a parent to produce a kid who can do these things!

If she had a tidy room and got up without a fuss–she ‘d be too good to believe! Glad to see her hard work paid off and everyone enjoyed the show!
