Mucking around in the music room

August 13th, 2009 by Sarah

Not sure if Abbie will get round to actually taking the exam but she’s been learning a few of the Grade 2 flute pieces, so Anna has been accompanying … spot the mistake!

I don’t mention Abigail as much with regard to music; she takes a very different approach to the other two. It doesn’t come as easily to her, but she works far harder at it, and I think she enjoys it just as much. She wanted to learn the Grade 2 pieces to make sure she’s at that sort of level before swapping from recorder to flute at orchestra in September.

Hurrah! I could listen all the way through without the disjointedness caused by the streaming problems we’ve had before!!!! Lovely!

How many washes before Anna’s colour washes out? I dyed my hair a reddish colour when about her age but the hair absorbed the colour slightly and never washed out as the pack said it should. Didn’t stay the nice red colour though, but was a rather odd orange. It grew out in the end but I never dyed my hair again.

is it a bit mean of me to say I hope that’s what happens here? It’s meant to be 24 washes, but I reckon on her hair it could last longer. Some things you can only learn one way!

Enjoyed listening to that. We really need a piano player here now. i don’t remember having trouble between octaves when i learned the flute (sure i did. i just don’t remember) but Maddy is struggling with it a bit, though she is enjoying playing very much. I’m liking picking it up again too and have played with Fran a few times.

Music is great :) Well done Abbie :)
