Two-player Tap Tap Revenge

Monday, March 16th, 2009

Waiting around at swimming lessons today we had some tapulous fun. First Anna thrashed Abbie and then she thrashed me, much to my disgust!

Spanish half term 3: Rain!

Sunday, February 15th, 2009

On Sunday it rained for pretty much the whole day, so we whiled away the grey day with games, dvds and reading :) Think the kids may have stayed in pyjamas all day! We had a big game of Monopoly, which lasted for hours and yet ended the way most Monopoly games end, with Steve winning.

Thankfully there were heaters around as we were a bit chilly – nice sheepskin rugs on the sofas too, perfect to snuggle up in.

Quick New Year’s Eve update

Since we got home from holiday we have …

Sunday
Spent the day with my family in Oxfordshire, exchanging gifts and generally having fun together :)

Family at Aston Pottery Ant Works Thomases and presents Family Singstar session Elodie plays ukelele

Monday
Popped into town to exchange a couple of presents (mainly unsuccessfully!), then went over to Steve’s parents for the afternoon. Watched Mamma Mia in the evening and hated it.

Tuesday
The girls had their Christmas present ‘trip into town’ with Grandma while I amused Josiah (meccano), and finally finished catching up on ACCF :) French homework when Anna got home (regular verb endings. My French, despite being a fluent speaker, is appalling!) Watched Angus, thongs, and perfect snogging in the evening and rather enjoyed it!

Me and my Windmill :) This poem makes me laugh :) Typical Fountain Goddess statement Jingle

Wednesday
Helped with Anna’s science homework first thing (electric generators) and some music practice etc., trying to get back into good habits for next week! My friend came over and we took some grumbling kids out geocaching. It was freezing but this meant that the children actually had a ball mucking around in icy puddles! Found 2, dnf 1. Dropped GPSr in the river at one point but it was retrieved and seems ok!

Off out to the Adams’ in a bit for New Year’s Eve games evening, not sure if we will make it until midnight but you never know.

Happy New Year to one and all :)

Bonfire Night

Wednesday, November 5th, 2008

I rang Steve’s parents a couple of days ago, wondering if we could pop up to their house on November 5th, as they live on a hill on one side of the city where you can see all the way across to the other side. I thought we’d just pop over after tea for a cuppa and watch whatever fireworks were going on, have some sparklers, then go home again.

However, somehow, over the past couple of days it turned into a bit of a party where they laid on hot dogs and fireworks, we took soup, rolls, and sparklers, and we all had a lovely time watching our own fireworks as well as all those across the city!

Watching fireworks I can see out from under here, honest! Sparkler

It was a lovely evening :) Got home around 9ish and I decided that was a good time for me to go to bed, along with the kids – still seething that I am quite so tired after last night’s election results. I was going to stay up and play some more Little Big Planet, which we got today – Josiah took over earlier and I really need to play the first few levels myself!
