Cheap Day

Sunday, August 17th, 2008

We need a few cheap days before we hit Paris later in the holiday! Today was one – we spent some money on ice-creams but free apart from that! Ate almost all our leftover food, and just went for a bike ride in the afternoon. The hiking/cycle track through the forest was fab, a mixture of all-terrain (but not too bad, easy by Llys-y-Fran reservoir standards anyway!) and tarmac track. The kids swam, too, when we got back to the campsite.

The forest here has a number of lakes in it which were constructed to serve Versailles, so that’s quite interesting. Was trying to find a link but Steve wants to use the computer so I have to stop, as I’ve been on here for ages!

There is internet at Huttopia Rambouillet too :) Just around the reception area, but handily that is also near the bar and pool, so sitting here watching the kids swim with a couple of other english children while drinking beer and reading/sharing the computer with Steve. Very civilised!

Not much to say really; our journey between sites was uneventful and we set up here without any problems. Eating up weird combinations of food from the trailer before going to find a supermarket tomorrow.

Went on a nice bike ride through the forest this afternoon, a mixture of forest trails and roadway, so that was nice. Weather is cloudy with the odd bit of sunshine breaking through, quite warm though, so very pleasant :)

Might try and see if I can get some more photos up …
