Steve was determined to see yet more of the Netherlands, so drove us down into Zuid-Holland to Rotterdam. Not an altogether successful trip as we didnt’ really know where to go or what to see when we got there, but we did find a visitors’ centre in town where we learnt a little bit about Rotterdam’s history. Spotted a Transformer’s statue which amused me, not sure what its relevance was!

On the way back to Amsterdam we stopped at the Amstelpark. The children took scooters all the way down and we had ice creams, then saw the windmill and Rembrandt’s statue at the bottom. Oh, and the interesting gate (honestly, between gates and bridges Steve was well away!).
