Putting up with Kubrick … and testing Wordbook

Thursday, November 8th, 2007

So, with huge thanks to the cavalry who came to my rescue when I cocked it up, WordPress got upgraded today. Which means I’m back to the default template until I sort out which template and plugins are going to work. But, if I’m lucky, the Wordbook plugin should be working already, which will integrate WP and Facebook, which was the whole point of doing the upgrade, sad but true.

Following a bit of a trend and with the greatest of thanks to my technical assistant, WP is upgraded here too … new tarski theme installed, which I will be fiddling with all evening – joy :D

Update
I have the part of tarski that I wanted working now, even if I did have to delete a whole section of code to sort it out (not exactly the best way to sort it but it’s done the job), and that’s the tag cloud. I just love looking at it! And of course now I have to go back through my 1600 odd posts to tag them all, which appeals greatly to my ocd tendencies. As if I didn’t have enough to do with consolidating my acww catalogue ;)

Can’t sort the picture just yet so the colours/piccie at the top might take longer to sort out – and I think I (and therefore you ;) ) just have to live with it for a while before making any more theme changes

Fiddling

Thought I’d share this … having upgraded one of our blogs last night I’ve been getting itchy feet and looking at themes and plugins … rather liked this one – a WP Flickr Post Bar plugin, which integrates a flickr thumbnail bar into the ‘write post’ page. Haven’t had much of a chance to test it yet (or got any new photos to post with it, which would help!) but thought I’d post the link anyway … you can post photos just by clicking on each one, which has got to be better than the faff of a flickr badge or copying & pasting.

I’ll move along

Okay. Not happy with just one WordPress style, you, the reader, can now choose which style you would like to access this page in. Down at the bottom of the sidebar on the right, you will find a section titled ‘themes’. Thanks to a nice little WordPress plugin you can select which one you’d like, and it should stay fixed on the one you choose. They are just some of my favourites so far, and all likely to be tweaked over the next few days (well, it is the Easter holidays, after all, did you expect me to be educating my children?!!). I’d be interested to know which one you change to, if any ;)
